Founded in 1895 F.Johnson, Huxford & Hall Ltd specialises in French polishing and antique
furniture restoration. We are a local and independently run business that prides itself
on offering our customers an unrivalled service to help enhance the beauty of particularly
well-loved and perhaps well-worn pieces.
The owner of F.Johnson, Huxford & Hall Ltd, Alan Huxford, is a qualified Master Craftsman who has served
all his time and is now an expert at what he does. We understand that a lot of the pieces
you entrust to us hold significant value be it sentimental or otherwise and as such you
can be convinced that they are in safe, knowledgeable hands.

PIANOS
Also we refurbish pianos which includes a pick up and delivery service - from small uprights to concert grands.
If the piano has a small scratch or slight veneer damage we can arrange to repair and
polish out these marks in your home.
We utilise the whole spectrum of wood finishing technology from hand rubbed oil and wax finishes,
full shine French polish through to modern two part catalysed lacquers rated for severe use.
We are as happy reviving original
Chippendale chairs as we are stripping and refinishing modern furniture.
Whilst we are fully competant at the application of modern finishes either by hand,
brush or spray application our area of excellence resides in the sympathetic and sensitive repair,
restoration and refinishing of ancient and older timbers including the careful and sometimes
invisible matching of newer pieces, boards or panels.

Clean and revive existing, new frames, skirtings, panelling, stairs, door edges refinishing or scratch/dent repair all snagging undertaken. Colour matching experts. New to existing.
We have the latest (emissions compliant) portable conventional, HVLP, mini LVLP and airbrush spray systems with portable spray booth partitioning, large volume fume extraction and dust extraction facilities for safe application of factory finishes on site.
We can work out of hours as necessary and travel nationwide.
